Zelenskyy Hopes for Productive Talks with U.S., Russia
"I had a conversation with envoys of President Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, ahead of the trilateral meetings in Geneva. We count on the meetings being truly productive," Zelenskyy declared in a statement issued during the Munich Security Conference.
The Ukrainian president indicated that his consultation with Trump's team encompassed progress achieved during earlier negotiating sessions conducted in Abu Dhabi this month.
Zelenskyy separately engaged in discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the German city, thanking Washington for its unwavering backing.
"We greatly appreciate that America consistently maintains a constructive approach and is ready to assist in protecting lives," Zelenskyy stated, while announcing that Ukraine's delegation will officially outline its negotiating stance when the next round commences.
The high-stakes Geneva summit represents a pivotal diplomatic moment as international efforts intensify to broker a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
